Do you see it available or in stock anywhere, I don't think so. Hence why it's so much discounted.

They'll still downvote and likely say it's old news, even though I've seen it as recent as this spring with RedLine malware. 99 out of 100 mini PC posts here are ACEMAGIC, and their subsidiaries, Kamrui, Nipogi, etc. and all come from the same "community members". Do not trust a drive wipe, it's trivial to kit out firmware to make malware permanent, and / or re-download after a fresh install.

Please link me to a compromised Linux installation from such a firmware/malware infection. Genuinely curious about this and I would love to see examples/real proof of this.

👉While current-stock ACEMAGICIAN / ACEMAGIC mini PCs like the S3A (featuring the Ryzen 7 H 255) do not regularly ship with malware today, the brand carries significant trust baggage due to a major, well-documented security incident.

What Actually Happened?
In early 2024, independent tech reviewers discovered that a wide batch of ACEMAGIC units (including the S1, AD08, and AD15 models) shipped straight from the factory with pre-installed malware—specifically from the Bladabindi and Redline trojan families.
These are severe, credential-stealing spywares capable of logging keystrokes, stealing browser-saved passwords, and scraping crypto wallets.

How the Malware Was Embedded
The breach occurred because ACEMAGIC's software developers attempted to bypass Microsoft's mandatory Windows 11 internet setup requirements to reduce initial boot times. They pulled unverified, third-party code from the internet and injected it into their factory image without scanning it or securing digital signatures.
Worse, the malware was hardcoded into the Windows recovery partition, meaning a standard "Windows factory reset" would just reinstall the virus.

Current Status (2026)
Following massive public backlash, ACEMAGIC apologized, recalled affected inventory, and cleaned up their base Windows images. Units manufactured since then—including newer releases like the S3A—have consistently scanned clean in independent tests by hardware reviewers.

However, because minor Chinese mini-PC brands frequently source, modify, and install custom Windows OS images across fragmented supply chains, an element of risk remains.

👉Best Practices If You Buy One
If you decide to purchase the S3A because the price-to-performance ratio is too good to pass up, you should treat it as compromised out of the box until you secure it yourself.

* Do Not Log In: Do not connect the PC to your Wi-Fi or sign into your Microsoft or Google accounts during the initial setup.

* Wipe it Completely: Use a separate, clean computer to download the official Windows 11 Media Creation Tool from Microsoft's website and flash it to a USB drive.
Boot the S3A from the USB, delete all existing disk partitions entirely (wiping the manufacturer's recovery partition), and perform a completely fresh, vanilla Windows installation.

* Fresh Drivers Only: Download any necessary hardware or RGB control drivers directly from official component manufacturers (like AMD for the chipset and graphics) rather than using unverified software packages packed on the machine.

They don't have proof because it's just fear mongering. Let's not regress back to the mythic bio malware that can't be removed via fresh install and now the mini pc is just ewaste

Unless there's definite proof, it's just trolling or fear mongering. It's already bad enough to find good mini pc deals due to the stupid Ai data centers.

(GAMING) The ACEMAGICIAN S3A is powered by the Ryzen 7 H 255 (an altered naming convention for chips like the Ryzen 7 8745HS/8845HS line) paired with Radeon 780M integrated graphics and high-speed LPDDR5 RAM.
The Radeon 780M is the strongest integrated GPU on the market, meaning you can comfortably run competitive first-person shooters at 1080p with excellent frame rates, though intensive tactical or battle royale shooters will require dropping to Low or Medium settings to maximize smoothness.
1080p Shooter Performance Expectations
| Game | Graphics Preset | Expected Average FPS | Target Experience |
|---|---|---|---|
| Valorant | 1080p High | 160 – 200+ FPS | Flawless high-refresh rate competitive gaming. |
| Overwatch 2 | 1080p Medium | 85 – 110 FPS | Very smooth, stays consistently above 60 FPS in heavy team fights. |
| Counter-Strike 2 | 1080p Low / Medium | 75 – 95 FPS | Completely playable, but dips lower than old CS:GO due to the Source 2 engine. |
| Apex Legends | 1080p Low | 60 – 75 FPS | Stable 60 FPS target for competitive play; drops to ~55 during chaotic ultimate abilities. |
| Call of Duty: Warzone | 1080p Minimum + FSR | 50 – 60 FPS | Playable, but pushes the integrated GPU to its absolute limit. Up-scaling (FSR) is required. |
> The 3-Mode Performance Knob: The S3A chassis features a physical dial on the front (Silent / Auto / Performance). To achieve these benchmarks, make sure the dial is set to Performance Mode so the mini PC can draw its full 54W TDP limit without prematurely throttling the clock speeds.
>
Because the integrated graphics rely entirely on system memory for VRAM, the LPDDR5 RAM inside the S3A provides the wide bandwidth needed to hit these targets. You won't be maxing out visual settings on heavy titles, but for eSports and competitive first-person shooters, it acts as a highly capable, ultra-compact rig.

GEMINI says it makes for a good HTPC.

Agree, but this member seems pretty knowledgeable hence my reply. Even a total wipe and fresh install of Windows is safe (if you can call that virus of an OS safe), but wiping an running Linux is even better. While a firmware infection/malware is possible, one would need physical access to get it on my boxen. Still, I don't know everything (nobody does) so I'm (still) open to any examples/proof of his claims.

I ignored your reply, because this was your response to my posts last time...

I tested an Acemagic unit last year, and one of the sub-branded units (Kamrui) this spring. Both contained the same RedLine based clone. It's current, not whatever nonsense AI has gleaned from articles and videos from a couple years ago. This specific manufacturer is the worst offender, not just that they were caught, but they immediately turned to an astroturfing campaign. They are heavily incentivizing misinformation with techtubers, etc. to regain sales in the US. Again, I'm a retire hardware industry analyst, and near 40 years in PC repair. I am not a cybersecurity guy, and I'm not writing a guide here as "proof". Mini PCs are a tiny market segment, but they do come in, and these I specifically test for all kinds of malware (RedLine, Lumma, Smoke Loader, Amadey, etc.) when I see them (I'm not letting them anywhere near a private network of mine). They create a new sub-brand every time I turn around, since it is just a matter of time before they are sanctioned and banned from sale in the US. In the meantime, expect most mini PC reviews on youtube to be about them, most deals to be about them, and the most vocal defenders to be about them.
