I wish I had waited on 12v batteries. This a not much more than I paid for 12v 100ah a couple years ago.
I paid $1000 for two of these exact batteries last year. LiFePO4 has come down a ton.

I have eco worthy 50ah batteries on my boat and can fish for 3-4 days without charging, lots of spot-lock and moving as well. these would last me all season without a charge.
This is good to hear. I just picked up two 20ah to run parallel for my first boat.

What's the use-case here? This is a massive battery but just being the battery how would someone utilize it for power backup in their home? Is there other hardware I would need to pickup in order to use it?

I just checked this on AE. I saw there is EXTRA $12 DISCOUNT, when you checkout with PAYPAL PAY LATER. So with $35 discount code. This is only $210.

Here is the picture screenshot: https://ibb.co/8nCb3gV9

NOTE: PayPal discount is first come first serve. It will not last.
I got some weird cash advance charge I think last time I used paypal.

So in 2008 a 12v 100Ah LiFePO4 battery ran right at $1000 .... A 280Ah was right at $2450 ,,,, And that was with a very crappy BMS - if at all ...so yes ... a 280Ah with excellent BMS for $222 is a pretty damn good deal ...
2008 is more than a couple of years ago.

I use it to run my 12v fridge and whatever other 12v stuff I want to plug into it. I have a victron 75/15 MPPT wired before it as the battery side, and a solar generator AC180P on the load side that I use for any 120v stuff and USB outlets etc, so this keeps plus solar effectively can greatly extend the run time of the power station. To use it for backup 120v power yes you'd need an inverter and stuff to make it like a diy power station.

I do something similar. I have one of these (and just picked up a 2nd) connected to an inverter and a solar array that I keep on the side of my house, on top of storage containers. It's enough to run my 12 V fridge indefinitely, however I run 2 computers, 4 monitors plus Ethernet switches, etc. as well. With this much load I do have to switch the inverter into bypass mode (A/C power) during the day, running on battery at night. It would probably take me like 8-10 years to recoup my costs, however my main purpose is having a DIY sine wave output UPS. This would come in handy during power outages as I could shut down the generator for a while but still run a significant amount of load off battery, then recharge during the day on solar, or at night with the 20 A charger.

It's PayPal fault. They withdraw CASH from your credit card to paid AE. Therefore, your bank charged you CASH ADVANCED FEE. I and many people have the same problem. Go to PayPal and chat with them about it, and they're going to REFUND you back that cash advanced charge. Here is the refunded that PayPal give back to me last year: https://ibb.co/fzkBr3dR

To prevent cash advanced charge in future, USE YOUR DEBIT CARD with PayPal to pay for purchase on AE. I did that with many orders after that no more charge.

I paid approx $900 for the four 280ah eco worthy batteries I have. I don't know how they can continue to charge as much as they do for tesla powerwalls and I can't stand the fact that solar installers keep pushing them on people.
If you wanted to install this for 120v ac appliances of 5kW max you'd still need a $800 inverter right? I really just want to run a fridge and a window ac (for 12 hours max), and some lights for emergency backup for hurricanes.
