I have these on my van. They make perfect sense for that (very common) use case. 4 of them fit, the roof is white so the bifacial works fine, I can't fit bigger panels, unistrut is cheap, wire is cheap in my use case. Not everyone is buying this to deck out the entire roof of a 3000 sq ft home.

No. That is very high for solar panels. The N-type is newer technology whereas previously you'd get 15%-20% efficiency. There are a couple of panels now that even have "shade technology" that helps keep output even with some shade. They are a lot more expensive but are potentially worth it if you have a camper van where you may park in occasional shade.

It's very possible/likely that 400 watt panels won't fit on some people's vehicle roofs.

I bought 2 of these off eBay for like $100 a panel I think. They work good. I guess I could get more and hook them up parallel and keep running them into my power station

No, not poor specs, these just aren't the most ideal for every situation, and that's on you if you expect them to be. Not everyone uses solar panels just how you apparently think they must.

These are just panels, not a fully-outfitted system, and are not intended to plug a phone directly into, and they'd be massive overkill for that use.

These are similarly priced and sometimes cheaper on ebay. I have one, best output at full sun is 95-100w. Doesn't matter if it has a reflective background. "Bi-facial" is just a gimmick to make you spend more $ for the same 100w panel.
