The normal price is $300, even as late as early last week. It's $100 for the CPU, $100 for the board, and $100 for the 16 GB. It's fairly consistent across all the bundles, with the 32 GB bundles at $200 for the RAM. MC fluctuates their bundle prices every week, and they're all up right now $50-100. The other good bundles are the 7600X3D at $350, and the 270K Plus bundle when it's at $550, that's $250 for the CPU, $100 for the board, and $200 for the 32 GB.

For other posters, paying $200 for 16 GB at Amazon, Newegg, etc. is not the way. Find another option. I'm building systems every week, don't think you have to pay the memory cartel retail prices. Micro Center isn't, and neither are even small builders like myself.

OK, but what option? It's not helpful to say go find one without more.

My son had an AM4 system and wanted to upgrade from the Ryzen 7 3700X CPU. Choices were to stay with AM4 and get a Ryzen 7 5800X3D for $350, or get this bundle and be on a more modern socket/chipset. We went with this bundle for the same price, it will be better in the long run.

What kind of impact would only having a single stick (single-channel) have on gaming or multi-threaded apps?

I would normally say bad but this is an X3D CPU so it mitigates it a little. might be fine with games but will take a hit on cpu heavy workloads.

Any idea if this might fit into a Fractal Terra mini-ITX?

It's pretty severe. I got the 7600x3d bundle, and it doesn't even run faster than my AM4 box.

Hardware Unboxed did benchmarks with this setup and compared it to two sticks. On average, it was 9-12% slower with their CPU (9700x). I think the impact will be less with an X3D CPU. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_nMu1KFkOC4
