The AOVOPRO TMAX is a budget electric scooter that stands out for smoother city riding than basic solid tire models, with decent suspension, app locking, and enough speed for adults or teens. It can feel fast in real use, and the battery is described as lasting a while for short trips. The main limits are hill climbing and ride comfort under heavier riders, since steep inclines can slow it to a crawl and the solid tires still make bumps harsher. It fits flatter routes and shorter commutes best.

Common Questions (5)

  • It struggles on hills, especially with heavier riders. Reports say a 200 lb+ rider can see only about 3 mph on 10% grades, and around 220 lb the suspension bottoms out and steep inclines become impractical.

  • Real-world range is commonly described around 10-12 miles for mixed use, with some riders saying the battery lasts quite a while. The 10.5Ah battery is also noted as shorter-range than the ESMAX's 14.5Ah pack, which is said to add about 6 miles.

  • Yes, it is marketed for adults and teens and can reach about 22 mph, so it is not a kid-sized scooter. It is also reported to feel safe and solid for adult use when ridden within its limits, though it is not ideal for steep hills or very heavy riders.

  • Yes. The app can be used to set a speed limit, and an Eco setting can reportedly cap it around 15 mph. One rider limited it to 10-11 mph for a 10-year-old, which is closer to biking speed.

  • Yes, the TMAX is described as much smoother than the ES80 on city streets because the ES80's solid tires and lack of shocks make bumps harsh. The TMAX still has solid tires, so the ride is firmer than a pneumatic-tire scooter, but it is considered worth the extra cost for rough pavement.

Even though this scooter is rated for up to 265lbs the little bit of cushion/suspension it has bottoms out at my 220lbs. This is a decent entry level E-Scooter. It struggles with steep inclines. well, and safer to say that it doesn't go up them and you can probably power walk faster. If you are looking for an e-scooter that will tackle steep hills, look elsewhere. For the pricepoint, it is an awesome scooter and well worth the price. If you plan on riding mostly flat'ish landscape and want about 10-12 miles of range at around 10mph, look no further. If you want to zip around at 20mph, go 15 miles , and climb steep inclines, this isnt your match. The scooter is sweet when tailoring expectations to real need. Just spend more if you want more expectations and are willing to spend more. in my opinion for basic expectations and knowing at over 220 lbs that im not going on "noticeably" inclined hills it's well worth the cost here.

With the motor being in the front, does that have any effect on how safe it is to ride compared to a rear wheel one? I was checking for the same brand scooters in temu and found that those are rear wheel powered ones.

Some states have laws where you have to be 16 and have driver license to ride a electric scooter

Aluexpress is always a git or miss. Even shopping "local" doesn't guarantee it is being shipped from the US...

I bought this last time for my son. He's 5'1" tall and 120 lbs and loves it. Slow on hills, but he manages. I tried my 210 lbs 6'1" frame on it and found it lacking. Absolutely not able to get me up a mild hill. For the $165 I paid, it's fine. Wouldn't pay over $200 for it though. And $500+ SRP is absurd.

Buy a Ladped. It's got a real website & doesn't cost much on Alliepress. Uses Vicont app for full control & locking it.
