While I agree a light sensor is important, there was a weird trade-off when I bought a unit for my wife's car. Somehow all 11" (which was the largest size available at the time) did not have a light sensor. It disnt matter which vendor/make you chose. It was clear they were all rebadged units of the same generic unit. Some models varied in the type of stand or the camera lens (angle visible), but the main unit was the same. The only models with auto-dimming were smaller screen units (9.5" or 10"). So basically there was a tradeoff in screen size. I don't know whether that's still the case.

I went with the larger screen despite knowing there is no auto-dimming. My wife is happier with the larger screen and she doesn't usually drive at night by herself anyway. If I happen to be driving her car at night I just dim it manually.

I bought one about a month ago to put in my dad's old car and it worked really well for all he's doing. It was actually the volam brand but it looks nearly identical. The cool thing is that it bluetooths to the car and also connects to the phone with wireless android auto.
The response speed of Google maps and the screen quality was much better than I expected.
