Not a vest, actually a "backpack" hydration system. Google hydration vest & youll see the difference.

How do you actually clean these things?

usually just a 2 L water bladder is $15 to $40. So this looks good if you don't need a lot of space in a pack for gear.

You pull the bladder out and wash it in the sink. I usually pour some soap and warm water in the fill and use the sprayer from the faucet to spray and clean out. Also take the hose off and run water and a drop of soap thru. You can use a straw cleaner for the hose.

I paid $20 back in May to use for a trip and music festival. I stupidly overfilled it with other items so it was a hassle and difficult to sip water. Also semi hassle filling it up but I do like multiple pockets

Based on pics looks like the black one only come with extra pockets on straps . I ordered blue and cancelled it

some people will mix vinegar and water and fill the bladder, let it set for 20 minutes and then flush it out several times. Also it is recommended to completely empty it after use and let it air out.

Toothpaste instead of soap work well. You also want to dry completely when not in use.
