For those who also saw the "chicken of the sea" tuna deal this morning and was wondering what is the better deal. The bumble bee tuna (this thread) is the better deal. The chicken of the sea deal has a larger coupon but the bumble tuna comes out to 9 cents per ounce. Here's the other sale if you wanted to see it: https://slickdeals.net/f/19712163-save-35-on-your-s-s-subscription-chicken-of-the-sea-genova

Did cans get smaller at some point? Used to eat these in college and swore they were at least 2 or more servings at a smaller amount
I just received the oil version and was shocked by how little tuna there was. There was so much liquid, it was literally like tuna soup. Just bits of tuna floating in oil. I don't expect this water version to be much different. There was definitely much less tuna than the ones I ate as a kid.
I have cans of tuna stockpiled, but not many more... I bought tons of cases years ago (pre covid, when they went on sale 4 for $1).... but always chicken of the seas. I do not recall ever having bumble bee, because it was much more expensive. Chicken of the seas is great, huge chunks of tuna!
Anyways, at less that $.50 per, especially nowadays, I am giving this a go!!!! Thank you OP.

Very true. Back then, when I squeezed out the water or oil, the lid would remain near the top of the can. Today, if oil and water is removed, the lid sinks to the the middle. That 5 oz can has more liquid content than solid. If you are buying the water ones, you are paying for literally water in a can.
