Do not buy this type of head lamp. The holder, the piece that the flashlight is snap into, is made of cheap plastic and will break in no time. I got 2 of them and they both broke the same way. The flashlight is still useable, just not as a head lamp.

Doesn't have the strap that goes over the top of the head, seems one would have to make this uncomfortably tight or this would slide down.

I own three of these lights and have many hours of use with them. One green and two of the black ones. Great lights! I did manage to crack one plastic mount in the center but that was user error and some instant glue has made it work fine for years. The green one is on my hardhat at work, the other two are used for camping and other home use. I seldom need to use the higher brightness levels and it runs a very long time on the lower levels. I have not missed the top strap, and not having it makes it easier to drop it around my neck when I don't want to have it on my head. This is the headlamp I recommend to friends all the time.

I have the h25lr which is same body, diff led.i prefer it over the hs21 for daily undersink work.the hs21 ,even with its overhead strap, is always falling off while I'm laying on my back.this one, because of its flat profile, stays put.and i can position it low down on forehead so it points opposite my eyes in close quarters. Never had problem with clips.
