I would think counterfeits tend to be the more expensive brands like Energizer or Panasonic - these are probably fine.

As for how they compare to the more expensive brands, I've used Rayovac in the past and the differences between the premium brands and these are mostly marketing in my experience. couldn't tell a real world difference between Energizer, Duracell, Amazon Basics, or Rayovac TBT
