If you have outlets close buy you can leave them plugged in. Depending where your outlets are, it may not look as clean, but it's truly hassle free. I'm on year 4 of using the same lights, under the cabinets, constantly plugged in.

We have different, similar sets and they are great. Have them under kitchen cabinets and in closets that don't have their own lights (just set them inside the closet on the trim above the door jamb).

We're all set, but love these things around the house. Ours seem to last a few weeks in the kitchen with motion detection on. We cook a lot so they may last longer in other scenarios.
