I'm looking to get my first table saw. On a bit of a budget but I would like to build garage storage, and also upgrade my walk in closet. Compared to the 15a 8 inch skil table saw for $220 how does this compare? Is it difficult to cut and rip 2x4 and plywood without a stand? Will the dewalt stand work pretty good out of the box?

It's hard to safety rip plywood on these jobsite table saws. Rip capacity is around 22" iirc, but it gets a bit wobbly past 14"ish. You'll either need to build an outfeed table or get a bunch of roller stands to rip full sheets. And You'll still need help.

A track (plunge) saw is much safer and easier to use for a hobbyist ripping a few sheets of ply here and there. A large cabinet saw with plenty of infeed/outfeed support if you're starting up a cabinet shop
