I'm looking to get my first table saw. On a bit of a budget but I would like to build garage storage, and also upgrade my walk in closet. Compared to the 15a 8 inch skil table saw for $220 how does this compare? Is it difficult to cut and rip 2x4 and plywood without a stand? Will the dewalt stand work pretty good out of the box?

It's hard to safety rip plywood on these jobsite table saws. Rip capacity is around 22" iirc, but it gets a bit wobbly past 14"ish. You'll either need to build an outfeed table or get a bunch of roller stands to rip full sheets. And You'll still need help.

A track (plunge) saw is much safer and easier to use for a hobbyist ripping a few sheets of ply here and there. A large cabinet saw with plenty of infeed/outfeed support if you're starting up a cabinet shop

Agree, a track saw is the right tool for ripping plywood sheets.

The stand is making no different. Like this roller stand is just help you roll, instead carry to the jobsite. If it 8 feet long 2x4, it will tip downward the other end. So you need another person to hold other end, like this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-XZvkvWtVzM

If you do by yourself, you need to built a table saw with outer feed at least 3 feet. So it help to rip 8 feet long 2x4. You could find people built their table saw on youtube a lot.

If you rip flywood 8 feet long, use circular saw and track. That is must easy and less dangerous. If it shorter than 8 feet, you could use your table saw.

So get Skill table saw for $220 and buy some woods build a table saw. If you want portable table saw, get some wheel casters.

You're going to regret not getting the 10 inch version. 8 inch version does not support Dado stack. The closest you can get to it would be with Box Joint blades.

I was curious about that. Will I need dado for a built in cabinet? Otherwise for my budget the skil 15a 8 1/4 saw makes more sense then

I love this 8" saw, but I prefer the scissor style stand for being more easy to store and fit in my truck. I got the saw on sale for $300 and stand for maybe $45

Nope. Don't need dado stack for built in cabinets. I do suggest investing in a track saw (or a track for circular saw if you're on a budget). Otherwise it will be a PITA to cut full size plywood sheets on a contractor sized table saw.
