The Ninja CFP105 DualBrew stands out as a versatile hot and iced coffee maker that saves counter space by handling both styles in one machine. The iced mode is designed for ice in the cup, brewing more slowly and more concentrated so the drink lands at the right strength, and the removable interior parts can go on the top dishwasher rack. The water reservoir is easy to fill, and the machine works well for both K-Cups and drip coffee. Drip quality is described as merely okay versus higher end SCA machines, and refurbished units raise some concern about mold or shipping damage, so it suits mixed coffee routines more than black coffee purists.
Common Questions (5)
It expects ice in the cup, slows the brew to make the coffee more concentrated, and dispenses less liquid because the ice is meant to melt into the final drink. That helps keep the iced coffee from tasting watered down.
A refurbished coffee maker can raise mold concerns, so a vinegar-and-water cleaning is a practical first step before use. There is also a reported case of a refurbished unit arriving with a broken side even though the box was undamaged.
The drip side is generally usable and the machine is convenient for mixed hot-and-iced drinks, but it is not as strong as higher-end SCA-rated drip machines like the Aroma Motif or Bonavita for people who mostly drink black coffee.
Yes. The DualBrew design handles both hot and iced coffee, so you do not need two separate machines on the counter.
Yes. The interior is made of three small parts that can be disassembled and placed on the top rack of a dishwasher, and the manual also includes a hot-water purge cleaning procedure.

As for making iced coffee: this machine EXPECTS you to have ice in the cup when using it in iced coffee mode. What it does is it slows down the brewing significantly so that the coffee comes out extra concentrated. As it goes in your mug, it melts the ice and dillutes the concentrated coffee to roughly the proper levels as normal coffee. It also reduces the amount of liquid going into your cup because it already expects your cup to be half full of ice (e.g. you set it to 8 oz of coffee, and it dispenses like 4 oz, melting the ~4 oz of ice to become 8 oz total of iced coffee).

For my house it works because I typically make drip coffee but enjoy the occasional ease of a K-Cup.
The water reservoir is super nice being able to fill it easily.
