basically, if the 50% off first time subscribe and save doesnt show up, you need to add it to cart > subscribe and save for 50% off > check out > on final page see if you get the correct slickdeal, if not, go back to the product page and maybe add another amount and remove it, and fiddle around at the shopping cart, eventually for some people you will see a Button next to the item in shopping cart that asks if you want to subscribe and save for 50% off. You need to ADD it to cart first, then when offered subscribe and save, add it then, goto check out and see if the price reflects it, then if not, go back and keep trying.
