It's a good starter machine, but you may outgrow it quickly if improving your espresso turns into a hobby. I used it daily for about 2-3 months before deciding to upgrade.

If you pair this with a decent burr grinder, a scale, and some fresh beans, you'll be able to get really good results once you're dialed in. Be warned though, you really need all of those things to use this machine, so the cost for an entire set up is more like $250-$300.

had this as my starter setup for a few years and this comment is spot on. If you have a few more bucks, try for the breville bambino plus on sale, but otherwise this setup is starter-centric.

Also the frothing wand-if you're into milk drinks, is fantastic and easy to clean.

Just got this deal from prime day, except I got the Like New version when they had 20% discount. Came out to about $70. The item was brand new with a torn box on the side.

Used it this morning for the first time with the included pressurized portafilter and preground Illy espresso. It still came out really good. But it's just the tip of the iceberg since I'll probably get a bottomless portafilter, kingrinder, tamper, wdt and fresh beans. The grinder alone costs more than the machine.

I will say that it didn't work immediately. I think there was an airlock. I had to prime the steam wand and reseat the water tank before it started working properly. Now it's fine.

I own this machine. Have the barista encore grinder. It makes, okay, coffee. And that's fully dialed in. You can replace the portafilter with an unpressurized basket, but the pump doesn't have enough power in my experience.

The worst part is the milk frother. It doesn't produce enough steam to roll the milk. You end up with big bubbles and milk vs micro foam like a coffee shop. However, if you time the froth when it's actively heating, you can roll the milk. It's by far the hardest part of the machine

I've seen a video where they take off the metal part of the frother, zip tie the rubber part at its base, then just froth the milk with the rubber tip. He's able to roll the milk pretty well.
