they use the same bands so wifi speeds would be the same but the beryl has openwrt shipped with it, an extra 2.5gbe port, waaay faster vpn capabilities, and more flexibility with customization. Still a good deal to go with the asus though ONLY if you load it with merlin which extends some capability but you're still limited on vpn speeds and 1x 2.5gbe port. ASUS also gives you aimesh and a tad bit better support/polish from a long running company.

If you're already in the Ubiquiti ecosystem, use their travel router instead, keeps all your settings and can tunnel into your network.

Second the unifi travel router, crazy compact, usb-c power connection with a second usb-c to connect to phone or device and two Ethernet ports on the other side. Also having its own display for status is very handy. Also comes with the vpn feature and teleport/tunnel. Also very easy to set up with the unifi app.

I find it funny that these "travel" routers feel the need to include all this fancy support for "Dual-band WiFi 7 router up to 3600 Mbps with MLO and 4K-QAM". They must be staying at different hotels than me. Heck I'm lucky if I get a crappy WiFi signal that can push 100 Mbps on its best day.

Speaking from experience, I wouldn't recommend it. I was trying to do this for the past several months with a single Wyze camera to monitor a remote property and adding the travel router just complicated things. The set up would work for about 3 days and then go kaput. I kept trying different settings, but nothing seemed to work until I simply just used the phone as a hotspot. My 2¢.
