Samsung's Galaxy Book 6 at $537.49 is a thin metal 16 inch laptop that stands out for its Core Ultra 7, 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD, touch display, and strong build quality. The price makes the hardware feel like a lot of machine for the money, and the centered keyboard, decent battery life, and workable Linux support add appeal. The main knocks are the low profile keyboard, weak speakers, and a 1920 by 1200 screen that can look soft or only average, with no USB4 or Thunderbolt. A few reports also raise durability concerns, including touchpad failures and screen cracking, so it suits buyers who value the spec sheet more than premium extras.

Common Questions (5)

  • The 16-inch 1920x1200 display is generally described as acceptable but not premium, with some calling text clarity average and anti-glare weak. The speakers are the bigger weakness: they are bottom-firing, sound thin at higher volume, and often need Dolby Atmos or EQ to become serviceable.

  • Select the 512GB storage and 16-inch touch configuration, then choose "no coverage" before continuing. If the page gets stuck, using Best Buy delivery/pickup, a clean browser window, or logging in again can get past the checkout loop.

  • Yes, but the flow can be confusing: some orders show Best Buy pickup, while others switch to $6.99 shipping and home delivery at checkout. Several buyers used Best Buy pickup to get the order ready quickly and avoid shipping delays.

  • There are reports of Galaxy Book screens cracking without obvious misuse, and one buyer had the touchpad fail completely even in BIOS. That makes the model worth checking carefully during the return window.

  • The 16GB LPDDR5X memory is not upgradable, and the laptop does not have USB4 or Thunderbolt. That makes the included RAM and port selection something to be comfortable with before buying.

For $540 why is that?
I thought 355 is comparable to 255, obviously not the case

___________________________________________

Performance: The standard Galaxy Book handles basic office work and web browsing. The Pro uses more robust processors for heavy multitasking, while the Ultra features high-end CPUs and discrete GPUs (e.g., Nvidia RTX) for true professional workloads.

Design & Portability: The Pro is incredibly thin and lightweight, making it an ideal travel companion. The Ultra is heavier and thicker to accommodate the advanced cooling and hardware required for intensive tasks.

Display: Standard Galaxy Books use standard LCD screens. Pro and Ultra models both boast premium, color-accurate AMOLED touchscreens with 120Hz refresh rates, though Ultra models are only available in larger sizes (usually 16-inch) for a larger workspace.

Battery Life: The Pro prioritizes maximum energy efficiency for on-the-go users, whereas the Ultra draws more power when handling intensive tasks.

Each time I click the link it takes me to the site and then refreshes to the sign in screen and it keeps doing that each time I sign in. Any fix?

I ended up ordering two of them, and a discounted Galaxy Buds4 Pros as a filler to bring it up to $1,300 after tax. I was trying to hit the $125 Amex credit. I might keep the headphones, but if I end up flipping the headphones and second laptop, I might make out with the laptop for around $300. I don't actually need a laptop though, so I'm wondering what I'm even doing.

The 32" smart monitor is 1080P for $112, worth pick up?

I think it's not worth it even $50 off.

It's not the app. It's opening up in Samsung's browser. I've got the same problem.

Why do all the YouTube videos have such bad reviews on this laptop? I really need one for school but even in the other thread majority of people are trash talking it. Is this really $1k+ retail? What's the point of the touchscreen if it doesn't convert to a tablet?
It's overpriced for 1000$ but for 550$ it's good

Yeah, I looked at the 32" monitor too. I usually try to see if something would be a good gift too, but I couldn't think of anyone that I could gift the monitor to. I figure the headphones are more useful if I want to keep them or as a gift, and they're easier to flip because they're smaller, so less shipping costs if you sell on eBay or something when you don't want to deal with locals. The monitor is also 1080p, which might be a deal breaker unless you actually want something that can act as both a Smart TV and monitor. But my monitors have been at least 1440p for as long as I can remember now.

Likely to cancel mine too... Played with it in store at BB. The speakers really lack... And the screen brightness was a bit disappointing too.

This deal was posted in another thread that is currently marked as dead. I bit based on that thread and mine shipped from Samsung and I'll be receiving it Monday. But I am seriously having second thoughts. Speakers and the screen might be a deal breaker for me. Hopefully returns via shipment back to Samsung isn't difficult. Never dealt with Samsung direct online before.

And I know people are saying it's under $550 and some people were even saying this might be a price mistake in the other thread, but what I really think is happening is Samsung is trying to clear out the non-Pro version of this laptop since it's quite lacking and they know they messed up in design this time around.

I ordered this with the free shipping option on June 30 for delivery today. But still hadn't shipped as of today. I just purchased again, but this time for in store pickup at Best Buy. It was ready in less than an hour and so I canceled the first order for a full refund.
