Nice, I've been avoiding the standard offers, would not have spotted this without this post, thank you!

That totally worked for me, thanks! Direct link is below. much better because last time I did this with a Standard plan without realizing you would lose all your selected books at the end. Never again.

I agree that Standard isn't worth a lot ... but by coincidence I had gotten the $20+ standard on one account, and I just found that a book on my waitlist went on sale this month, so I spent $4.99 of that $20 cash credit to own it permanently; if I wind up spending none of the rest (unlikely) I'll have paid $3 for that book, which is really good.

I feel like Standard is fine when it's on discount (and a buck a title is pretty cool), but costs too much otherwise.

But you found a better deal, of course. No contest.

Just a clarification, you don't "lose all of your books when you cancel" on the Standard plan. It's more like you're in a "build your own Plus plan", and you "keep" the books - the problem is that you can only listen to them while your account is active (like a Plus plan).

This is a lot bit better than losing your books permanently even though it's not as good as Premium. And honestly it's hard to compare to Plus, because Plus comes preloaded with a ton of books while Standard only starts with one, but on the other hand you won't lose a book from Standard while Audible can remove anything at any time from Plus.

This work for me too. By the way. I recent policy change at audible. You can no longer return books if you paid for them. You can only return books if you used a credit as part of a plan like plus!

Depends on current deals. That $20 could sometimes get you 3-4 books, then you switch to the premium plus for the credits.
