I purposely went out of my way to get a mini PC with oculink. It's double the performance of the USB 4 external GPU.
$730 for the 32GB/1TB + $200 for an eGPU enclosure/pSU + $650 for a 9070 XT (for example) is roughly $1600. Or you can just buy a 9070 XT PC with a dekstop CPU, faster RAM, faster GPU connection (PCI-e x16 vs x4), etc.

Realistically, I do. I do AI work on a mini pc in the closet I was able to pick up for a low price. Just because you don't use it doesn't mean no one else does.

So the important thing is it's Radeon 780M and you can still buy those in the $500s at times and certainly under $650. This isn't a good deal.
This is 32GB/1TB/780M for $609 and has been under $550 (NO OCULINK): https://www.amazon.com/origimagic...re
Realistically, who really uses Oculink?
These were the GOAT when they came out. Pretty premium device, even today...
Price is pretty good too, even with all the RAM and SSD increases.

Lots of other options for $1600-1800 depending on how good a CPU youwant.
