What is so great about this and why would I want it over the stock one?

Does anyone know how this compares to their original design? I've got one and have had to disassemble and lubricate it twice already, and it honestly doesn't get used that much and we have fairly soft water. I can't figure out why it seems more susceptible than "lesser" guns that I've owned over the years.

I own the non-pro version and it just functions well. The swivel male fitting is a game changer for washing cars, no more tangles.. but if you are upgrading the gun ide recommend getting a better hose as well.

Swivel at bottom so no more tangled hose. Stainless steel connects so no rusting and generally hold up longer than brass. Light pull trigger which is huge is you're a pro or wash multiple cars/often enough. Tip holder In Handle so no more losing/looking for a lost tip. Great warranty. Any problems- reach out and they make it right.

I bought an off-brand over Prime Day for $19.99 with a foam cannon included. It works well and gets the job done. This price still seems to be really expensive.

You don't know what you're missing then. I've had both the non-pro and Pro and it's not comparable. The Pro gun is much more comfortable to hold and easier to use. The swivel on the non-pro has a lot of friction whereas the Pro has a much more free swivel. The trigger pull force on the non-pro is a much more than the Pro. I wouldn't recommend the non-pro to anybody and there are other Chinese brand ones like Tutuluck, Sitimimil or Zebra clean that are even better than the McKillans Pro as well.

This is a short sprayer. Most stock sprayers have a long sprayer attached. That makes it more likely you're going to bump/scratch a car. The longer rod is also incredibly awkward in some situations (like if you're using a shower nozzle to get the internal areas of your doors).

All that said, $63 is a heck of a lot more than the $25 cheapos on Amazon. But McKillans is usually very high quality stuff and they do support it well. Their quick connect fittings are top notch (though what's included here as stainless steel is the cheaper part of the pairing - the female halves are the more expensive of the pairs and they include a brass one for the female half). Buy some of their automatic quick connect fittings and you'll cry at the price but appreciate them every time you use them!
