Ordered some of these before the price drop. They are great for the price but they're a bargain for a reason. At least one of them is rubbing against the frame at a very specific 71% pwm.

Not that I don't value the opinion of a user with a comment history of 3, but the 120mm version of these come highly recommended by Tom's Hardware https://www.tomshardware.com/pc-c...st-pc-fans

I had a similarly performing fan. The rubber mounts did not help. I just trashed the fan. QC is a bit meh. But a better fan is still significantly more expensive even with a dud every now and then.

I have recently replaced my aging fans with these in my 15 years old Corsair case. I'm running a Ryzen 5800X3D, Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 SE CPU Cooler, Intel ARC B580, 32GB DDR4-3600, 750W Gold Rated Seasonic Focus PSU, and an Asus TUF X570-Plus MB. My case supports six 140mm fans (two front, two side, two on top) and one rear 120mm fan. I replaced all six 140mm fans with these Arctic P14 Pro fans, and the rear fan got an unused 120mm Corsair fan I had in my parts bin. The fans are barely audible even under load playing games and compiling code. Ambient case temperature under load has rarely gone above 45°C.

What are you using to measure ambient case temp? Most software I've seen only measure CPU, GPU, and chipset temps.

Just for me, this fan is the best as this price level. you cannot require 5$ each one can be as great as $30 one.
on my PC, this fan works quite at low to mid RPM. I don't play 3A game.

some of the best value case fans period but can be noisy at higher rpms. if you're looking for silent fans look elsewhere

That's really weird. Why would it physically touch at a specific speed?

These have very tight tolerance with very little gap between the blade and housing to achieve their pressure optimized design. Fans can tend to resonate at certain speeds so that which might normally be unheard might result in slight rubbing instead.

I have a 5 1/4" front panel USB panel/temperature gauge that fits in an optical drive slot which I picked up at a computer show many years ago. I think it was made by Silvertone if I remember right. I couldn't find it on Amazon, but they did have this: https://a.co/d/0iUqlJZ6

My motherboard has an on board temperature sensor and connections for 2 or 3 more remote wired sensors. All of these are available for fan control inputs.

This is happening while standing on my desk unmounted.

I suspect a tiny imbalance in the blades is causing it. Lower speeds it's not enough energy to 'throw' it off balance, and at higher speeds it smooths out again. It is worth pointing out that once you have this up against a radiator or mesh screen the wind turbulence absolutely drowns out the clicking at this speed.

I have the 120mm version and they work extremely well for me. Didn't have any duds, great performance. Silent? No, but can be tuned where I get plenty of airflow without them being loud.
