while I can't answer to the oily issue, if you look at the pictures uploaded by reviewers, some have a picture of these beans in their espresso machine. So they are definitely being used that way. Google may give you some better answers on the oily question.

I don't know, $7 per lb. for what used to be some of the cheapest coffee available seems kinda' crazy. I think this stuff has a lot of Robusto beans in it making it fairly bitter and high in caffeine. That said, among the "Cuban Style" coffees this one tastes the best, in my opinion.

to your point, it was the 12oz ground bags of this that were often about $3.50 on S&S deals, not the 16oz. I know because I've bought them in the past. So that would put a lb at about $4.400, so yeah, $7 is a nice bump but honestly hard to find any coffee selling for under $7 a lb right now. Best we've seen on recent deals on the 12oz bags of Community Coffee ground flavors like Butter Pecan for about $3.60 here and there, and those aren't in the league of this stuff. Guessing tariffs may have impacted coffee products rise ? not sure.

This don't taste good compared to lavazza super crema but if I had to would definitely buy cafe bustelo over llave and pilon
