This one is still stamped but cheaper than the posted deal and seems to be a higher tier within the same brand? I'm not very familiar, but I don't seem to understand why the original post is a deal at all.

it seems all the companies have a low end product like Zwilling Gourmet series Chinese Chefs knife at 119. I think anyone who wants a better knife than this will know they want a ikon or a classic. Others can be happy to have the lower end of a good brand, just like cars.

This appears to be slightly overpriced. Their farmer variant is cheaper and would serve most home chef needs. And if you are the amateur home chef that will rarely use these but still sees the needs to spend $80 on a chef knife, you can get some equally functional (as the $10 alternative) Damascus knives with cool patterns if you're trying to show off on a date night.

I get having a lower end line, but 79 bucks for this is using their good name to overinflate a crap product and this is the "sale" price. Yikes
