As lordvoom2 mentioned, the latest conversion is at a 45% rate (Essentials to Ultimate), and up to 36 months is allowed. I agree that this is a decent deal, as it has become difficult to find significant discounts from reliable vendors.
In order to upgrade you must pay for or add an ultimate subscription. You can't just opt to upgrade and convert. At least to my knowledge.
