I struggled with these ones. I don't know much about plants and what makes one healthier than another, but I lost several of these in the first year. The ones I got from Lowe's just seem more robust and healthy. I ended up replacing the ones that died with ones from Lowe's the following season, and they are holding strong. These were cheap at least, and some are still alive. Just my 2 cents.

These Thuja Green Giant arborvitae are valued as a fast growing privacy tree with dense evergreen foliage and a strong price for the size. The deal works out to about $8.63 per plant with free Prime shipping, far below higher priced nursery options. Growth can be quick once established, but starting from 1 to 2 foot plants means privacy may take years, and smaller trees can struggle early. The comments also flag deer damage, snow load, fire risk in dry areas, and the need for watering and timing the planting carefully. A practical pick if you can wait for them to fill in.
Larger 4-5 foot arborvitae can speed up privacy results compared with starting from 2-foot stock.
The deal price works out to about $8.63 per plant with free Prime shipping.
Container arborvitae can be planted any time of year if they stay watered and mulched.
The plants can be pruned to keep a desired size after they establish.
Deer reportedly ate the arborvitae down to the trunks over winter, and smaller plants died.
Several plants reportedly died in the first year after purchase, while replacements from Lowe's held up better.
Snow can weigh down branches easily, so brushing snow off may be needed during early years.
Planting timing can be a problem, since now may not be the right time to plant if watering access is limited.
