Heads up -- DJI has had many restrictions in the USA. Be careful before dropping money on something -- make sure you can "ACTIVATE" the product where you live...!

(gotta love when you need to ask a company + government for permission to turn on what you bought, but hey, welcome to the future. at least we got flying cars...!)

B.S. A DJI drone (the non-Chinese version) can be activated anywhere in the world. There are no government restrictions; that's baloney. No one is asking for permission in the US, we still have freedom here.

Well, the restrictions for use are FAA regulated, so if you are close to an airport for example, you cannot fly the drone, or it may not go very high (like 60-100ft max).

Or if you are referring to the DJI "ban", that is only for the latest new models https://uavcoach.com/dji-ban/

those automatic restrictions inside the drone are all gone; everything is manual and it's up to the pilot to not fly or not fly high (obey the rules). the drone is, for the most part, completely free of geofencing.
