I think it's an ok deal for now. You probably could have gotten it several hundred dollars cheaper a year or two ago, but it's not bad. It's a good start for people who want to buy into Panasonic's full-frame cameras with phase-detect autofocus.

I know this is a good camera, but it's several years old at this point. I honestly wouldn't pay more than $1100 or so for this camera.

On a good sale, the body is $1400-$1700. This isn't much of a deal. If this was the S5IIX, it'd be a better deal. I'd venture to say that for most people looking at a Lumix camera, the S9, S5IIX, or S1IIE are the better choices. I'd only consider a S5II if it was under $1500. Plus, these lenses wouldn't be my first choice anyway (even though they're both very good).

The increased price thanks to all the nonsense going on seems to have hit the S5II harder than the S9.
