Many restaurants have the same price on DoorDash as their regular menu, so when you combine that with a discount or cheap gift cards, it's cheaper. Pickup has no fees or tips.

Just grabbed one.

Normally I do DoorDash with the Chase discounts stacked on top to get extra savings. Plus DD has deals and discounts all the time. To avoid fees/delivery I always do pickup when I can. Even if it means driving to a dashmart.

What bothers me the most is that some restaurants don't have the ability to tip in app. My understanding is that the restaurant owner needs to enable it on their side. Feels like DD is cheating them to me. I'll leave a tip cash.

If I can't pick it up, I won't order.

I'm fine with corporate "trained" and paid employees delivering my pizza. They at least answer to an entity. But I don't trust some random person delivering my burrito.

I've already been screwed by Amazon having a fly by night delivery "company" crash into my garage door. I don't want to deal with meth needles in my Chipotle.

DD is bad company to deal with if your order has problem. I ordered a red wine bottle from totalwine last week. Unfortunately, the delivery guy came to the wrong address and he tried to talk to me in the app but i was waiting for him to ring the door bell without checking the phone. So he return my item to the store and i was charged for $25. I tried to chatted and called them many times but they could not do anything.
