Super Mario RPG on Switch is a charming, short, and easygoing remake that keeps the original's appeal while adding smoother movement, responsive turn based combat, and timed inputs that can boost damage. The graphics feel refreshed, and the familiar characters and Bowser sections add to the cozy, playful tone. The main drawback is the much lower difficulty, with normal attacks and splash damage making the game feel far easier than the original, though boss rematches still add some challenge. The price also looks high versus recent sales in the $15 to $20 range.
Players wanting a short, cozy RPG with familiar characters, because it is fun, smooth to play, and can be finished in about 10-15 hours.
Fans who enjoy timing-based combat, because maximizing damage requires hand-eye coordination and input timing.
Players who like easier RPGs with optional tougher fights, because the main game is simpler while the boss rematches are harder and fun.
Families looking for a shared watchable adventure, because it stays fun and worked well as a first-time viewing experience for children.
Players wanting a challenging remake, because the combat is much easier than the original and can feel too simple.
Retro fans expecting the original difficulty balance, because the Switch version is much easier than the classic release.
Players who want a deep battle system, because the combat is described as simple and shallow.
Buyers who want to avoid splash-damage mechanics, because the game includes splash damage that can be a dealbreaker.

The graphics are a nice refresh on the original and fit well with the current generation.
Combat is turn-based and does not require total immersion to do well. movement throughout the game is rapid, smooth, and does not have some of the turn based delays found in the Mario and Luigi and paper Mario RPG lines
The characters are adorable and engaging, and it is fun to play as Bowser and appreciate some of his quirkines
if you are looking for something challenging, this is probably not it. However, if you were looking for something relatively cute, cozy, and with familiar characters, this can appeal to gamers of many ages.
