Not thinking this would light up a room very well with the hood surrounding the light fixture?

The hood is recessed - I've bought two different brands but same DC motor (quiet and super energy efficent).

Buying another

How bad is the delay between flipping the switch and it lighting up?

I bought another version of this last month for $60. The light comes on quickly and is a bright dimmable 20 watt unit with 3 color choices. The fan provides a good breeze with very little noise. All in all, a worthwhile purchase.

Anyone had experience with ceiling fans wobbling eventually and loosening the cables inside?

The wobbling seems to be used error. Not installed properly. No issues.

Agreed. If you're having issues, tightening everything, ensuring the fan is correctly balanced and applying some good machine lubricant to the fan should fix that. If you're really having trouble I suggest some loctite for the bolts in your celing and to ensure the ceiling mount in your stud is tightly fitted

Looks about the same as the $49.99 deal I got for this 52" low profile 6 blade unit on Prime Day
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0FBWFKVS3
Other than that one having the RGB light they should be the same. I like mine so far

I have a copy cat of this that's a couple of years old. Haven't been able to troubleshoot but it won't work and has been emitting a beeping sound. The seller doesn't seem to exist anymore on Amazon.

Not this exact model, but a similar one turns the light on when power is restored during an outage. I don't live somewhere that power outages are a frequent occurrence, but in our bedroom in the middle of the night, it was a real irritation. We were woken up due to the power outage itself and then woken up again a bit later when the power came back on and the fan light decided it was time to shine. I had to get up and find the remote and turn it off. It's not a huge deal, but in the moment, I vowed to only purchase dumb fans in the future. Something to consider.

Definitely not bright enough to be your only source of light in a large room. You can get by with it in a small room.
