- 3" Stop metal construction home security door lock with 8 screws designed to withstand 800Ibs of force, 12 times stronger than a normal deadbolt to against being kicked in.
- Easy to install.
- Easy to Use: Place index finger on top of door lock security and thumb on bottom and slide lock away from the base plate along with the door in the direction of the hinges then pull outward.
- This door guard prevents breaking in but is easy to open in case of emergency.
- Child proof door lock adds extra security measures for toddlers. This door reinforcement lock has a spring-loaded design to prevent children from opening the door.

FWIW, I have these on all my doors. They won't stop SWAT with a battering ram or a dozen really good kicks to the door, but they will give you far more time to get to prepared (or flee if that is your jam) if someone did try to do a home invasion. The point is delaying and hopefully dissuading forced entry, not to be impenetrable.
If someone really wanted to break in, a glass window can be 'unlocked' with a small rock. Luckily people are predictable and gravitate towards doors even if they are normally harder and louder to enter vs breaking a window.
*P.S. Buy much longer screws (3") with this or any door frame mounted lock. Also replace all those tiny screws on your door jams, locks, and hinges now. Takes only a few minutes and can be done without removing anything but replacing one screw at a time.

Anyway, I bought them. My home kids are my cat and dog, so hopefully these do a good job defending them if needed.
Been looking at them for a while due to having an autistic 5 year old that likes to elope. We currently use chain door guards, but I hate the way they look. Pretty much any lock can be bypassed by an intruder, and even if they can't, most door frames aren't difficult to persuade open, or a window. I live in the country, miles from anywhere anyone who doesn't live here would have a reason to go to, so we don't see much traffic. Could someone break in, sure, but this gives them another hurdle.
My purchase was solely to keep my kid in the house, especially as he gets older, and these things seem like they would work perfectly. Ordered last night, they were delivered today, and already have them mounted on 5 doors. They seem solid, and have the added benefit of keeping the door tighter against the seals than the knobs do. There's absolutely no play in the door when you turn the knob, so I don't feel like there's any way my kid could bust them open, I'd probably have a difficult time doing so.

FWIW, that party trick also depends on your door being otherwise completely unlocked AND the home invader knowing you are 1 in 10,000 people who have this installed AND they magically know on the door frame where it is AND wants to spend that time hanging out at your door while they try to jimmy the lock?
Why don't they just ask bigfoot help them kickdown the door? I'm sure he'll be walking by at that same time with the winning powerball ticket in his hand...That seems just as likely
