Sorry to thread poop but a much better quality knife at a lower regular price is an actual Mora knife. The CS is 4116 steel while the SS version of a Mora is a much higher quality 14C28N steel. Mora has a non stainless, carbon steel version, too. The CS is really just a knockoff of the original mora puukko design that does not have a finger guard. More user friendly are the newer Mora designs that have finger guards. Amazon has a number of different Moras with just a quick search on Mora in the search bar.

is your recommendation $12? no link provided so I assume its not
I have a carbon steel Mora, and it stays crazy sharp. The quality of these Cold Steel Chinese-made knives is nothing like the original brand. And, honestly, who actually wants a knife like this without a finger guard? Maybe this is for use as a Cold Steel fake tanto, plus a Cold Steel fake war axe, and a Cold Steel fake sword for scaring zombies in the coming apocalypse? Understand that some use it as a beater camping knife when splitting small logs with a maul

The high carbon version is $11
The SS version is $16.
I'm not sure about the exact steel version that they mentioned, so it might not meet the same price cutoff. But I agree with their sentiment of buying the better quality brand. Buy once cry once.

The Mora Pro S in 12C27 lists at $15 though it is a 3.6" blade. The Mora 201c German carbon steel (C100S) 4.6" is at $34. However, the entire lineup of "Mora" have multiple different blade profiles for different applications. I do not kept track of Morakniv knives to know if they regularly go on sale.
