In strong winds, the umbrella acts like a parachute when left open. During a windstorm, it was powerful enough to pull over a heavy glass patio table, causing the glass to shatter.
Based on my experience, I would not recommend this umbrella. While it looks great and performs well in calm weather, the lack of a wind vent makes it vulnerable to damage and potentially hazardous in windy conditions.

Based on my experience, I would not recommend this umbrella. While it looks great and performs well in calm weather, the lack of a wind vent makes it vulnerable to damage and potentially hazardous in windy conditions.
Easy to return if it sucks and a great price for pool shade it it's even ok.
I'm guessing the company just used an old listing to keep the reviews, but this style of umbrella is real, there are lots of them on Amazon.
I personally don't think they'll be very durable though, especially since this one doesn't have vents to allow air to move through it.

Though more seriously you can also use a slightly larger than the umbrella pole PVC pipe and get a very similar effect. Some pipe insulation should take up any extra space between the pole and the pipe
