Also I notice the number of caddisflies that swarm to my windows at night has drastically reduced, not sure if it's a seasonal thing or because of the zapper. And, the zapper net is covered with bugs dead bodies after a week of use, so it does need to be cleaned.
These bugs are part of the life cycle!!

"BCMC uses CO2 traps to attract and collect adult female mosquitoes. The trap is made up of a cooler that holds dry ice (with holes in the bottom), a fan and a catch bag. Dry ice emits carbon dioxide as it sublimates (goes from solid to gas) and this is a strong, long-range attractant to female mosquitoes (only females bite). When the female gets close to the trap the fan sucks the mosquito into the catch bag, which is then collected the following morning."

"After mosquitoes have used carbon dioxide to get close to a bloodmeal, other indicators are used to actually pick out a victim. These include lactic acid, body heat, natural skin oils, body scent and more. This is why some people are bothered by mosquitoes more than others."

Thats my experience, but they do tend to linger around lights- its a heat source. How much do LED's help in this regard? Probably a lot less.
That said, they can still help with a variety of other insect issues, like house flies, blow flies, no see ums, etc.
However they are non specific, and you will get a lot of moths, Nobody thinks of moths as effective pollinators... bees get all the hype.
