Seems like a great deal? I got 7500x3d and b850m-c motherboard for $200 last week.
Yes, if you already have DDR5 ram / can get it at a decent price. Otherwise if you live near a Microcenter that is always the best route for a new build.
Yes I have DDR5 ram and lots of left over sticks. I should make use of some of those 256GB ones - already made a lot of usb-sticks and will use some of small builds.
I also have 48GB of DDR4, I need to find a cheap mobo/cpu combo (I see $249 in MicroCenter but i don't want those plus they come with a 16GB DDR4 which I don't need and I want to get closer to the 7500X3D, they have Ryzen 5 5500 which I looked up as pretty weak processors.
Currently looking for good price on a nice exotic case or just cool looking case that's not a regular square/rectangle. like a theme thing but they are all pretty expensive. I saw the ones with a big HYTE LCD cases https://www.amazon.com/HYTE-Infin...B0DKJKG9V5
in front and they were $350 each. damn. Good for lucky nephews and nieces when I get my next 5090 machines and salvage the PC parts!
Also looking to build out some other LLM rigs like using 3 x 3080 12GB for a cheap $1000 36GB VRAM setup - saw it on youtube but the completely open setup feels a bit wonky and dangerous with pets and open connections.
Custom mod thing could be addictive. I even found myself re-routing wires for cable management purposes. LOL... What is wrong with me!
just built one of these so I can test PC parts easier wtih a smaller foot-print
