This Humble Choice looks strongest for Sea of Stars, TUNIC, and Neon White, with the bundle leaning on a solid lineup rather than a single headliner. Sea of Stars gets praise for gorgeous visuals, a great score, and classic JRPG appeal, while TUNIC is called a must play for its puzzles and Zelda like feel. Neon White stands out as an addictive cult favorite with a strong soundtrack. The main caveat is fit, since Sea of Stars and TUNIC both draw some criticism for story or pacing, making the month best for anyone who still wants those games.

  • Sea of Stars offers gorgeous environments and a fantastic score that can appeal to retro SNES-style JRPG fans.

  • TUNIC can provide a manual and puzzle-driven experience that feels like an old Zelda-style adventure but with added challenge.

  • The bundle includes multiple Steam keyshop historic lows that can make the $15 price work well for players targeting at least two titles.

  • Neon White can deliver an addictive gameplay loop with a strong soundtrack that supports replay and even speedrunning with others.

  • Sea of Stars can disappoint with narrative and gameplay that feel like they drop the ball for some players.

  • TUNIC can feel tedious for some players due to constant enemy respawning and limited progression on overworld routes.

  • TUNIC can create a kill-and-heal loop because healing revives enemies, which can cause players to get stuck.

  • Neon White's VR mod can trigger motion sickness even when the VR experience is enjoyable.

I enjoyed Sea of Stars, Tunic, and Neon White in the past, so I'd call this a good month if you don't have those already. As an fyi - for anyone with a VR headset and a decent PC compatible with SteamVR, Neon White has a solid VR Mod (https://github.com/Raicuparta/heaven-vr). I tried it and quite enjoyed it, but I did get a little motion sick, so consider yourself warned.

If anyone has a extra copy of Neon White and no one to give it to, I would love to try it out if you can DM.

I wanted to like Tunic, but it quickly felt like it was simultaneously trying to do too much while not doing enough for the genre it most resembles.

It's basically if the "A Link to the Past" aesthetic got mashed up with Dark Souls, but without understanding what makes either great.

Getting rid of the rogue like elements (constant enemy respawning) on the overworld would have gone a long way to making everything feel less tedious. Instead, you end up killing the same 3 enemies in the dozens of passes you have to make from point A to B.

It just never felt like progression.

They may not be for everyone, but that doesn't make them an awful selection. All are very well reviewed on Steam.

Also, the bundle price is good as well - basically as long as you think you'll play two of them then the rest are "free".

Historic lows (including keyshop pricing):
  • Sea of Stars: Sunset Edition $10.85
  • TUNIC $10.78
  • Neon White $6.59
  • Police Simulator: Patrol Officers $4.81
  • Drop Duchy - Complete Edition $14.36
  • Sledders $2.64
  • Dicefolk $3.46
  • Our Adventurer Guild $2.64
Tunic is incredible (a must-play). I've heard Neon White is good. Sea of Stars is a great game. I've never heard of the other ones.

Who is the one trolling here? At least Eragorn gave an explanation that might actually be useful to someone that doesn't know these games.
Most comments here day Tunic is great, but wherestheanykey disagreed and gave really good feedback about why they felt that way.

Man, People love Tunic. I thought all the puzzles associated with the manual were cool, but the whole thing was dragged down by the beyond mediocre gameplay and world. I got bored and never finished after beating the quarry boss, and guessing correctly at the holy cross puzzle mechanic way earlier than you're supposed to.

Police simulator looks really good! Its probably the most polished uniformed police officer game.I just wish the precinct was also included in this month. That would have been the ultimate bundle.
Ooh I would've purchased today if The Precinct was in this too. I do have five of these in my wishlist but not immediate wishlist. Both Sea of Stars and Tunic I own on Switch but am definitely thinking of adding to Steam. Tunic looks amazing and the little I've played its cool but I get stuck quickly cause when you go heal you revive all enemies again. So I end up in a loop. Kill enemies but need to heal, etc etc.

I played Sea of Stars and Tunic on game pass. I love Sea of Stars, but retro jrpg SNES style games are one of my favorite genres. I was pleasantly satisfied after completing it.

Tunic is kind of like an old Zelda game, but more challenging. I only played it for a couple ours before some other game caught my attention.

I think I will pass on this month's bundle and use that money towards a few titles on the steam summer sale.
