I will say that the firmware updates have a been a hit/miss train wreck for the 990D. Not sure if the 990F have been having the same issue with Firmware.

To turn off auto-updates on the Samsung HW-Q990F/ZA soundbar, open the Samsung SmartThings app, go to the Menu (bottom right) > Settings icon (top right). Scroll down to Auto update devices and services and toggle it off.

I haven't heard anything on the 990F having issues but not sure.

Have been eyeing this for some time . I wonder if Samsung will drop the price even lower . Was the 990D much cheaper than $800 after 990f was released ?

$620, 689, 693, 696, and it goes up from there. The HW-Q990F released in May so it took ~8 months to see it hit $620 and it hasn't been lower since December. The H (2026) model released in May.

I did that when I first got the 990D, but a surround wouldn't connect and they sent a tech that worked on it reenabled it to update which caused other issues. Checking Reddit seems like the last firmware 1051 is causing a ton of headaches.

Got my Vizio 5.1 system in 2022 for $150. Can't say for sure if this is truly worth >5x more but, do your due diligence..

I will say tho, Samsung really has one of the biggest group of brand simps. Ppl would rather get a Samsung TV without local dimming for $1000 rather than a TCL or Hisense with mini LEDs for less....

Should I buy this too before it goes up by 300$ for "ram" reasons?
