As for this deal its renewed, does not do 3-D, and its gaming is going to be just okay as its input lag is still slightly higher than the competition (over 12ms at 1080/120hz no 240hz). My few years old Optoma CinemaX D2 which im selling shortly smokes it in input lag and does 240hz at 4ms which is a huge difference.
What it will do well is give you a decent picture even without light control cause its 4,000 Lumens. It will look way better with light control though, but still very bright for a open day time living room watching experience.

Upgraded to the AWOL Aetherion Max, wanted something a little brighter with the 3 laser technology, and even faster input lag. That could still do 150" screen size if I wanted instead of being limited to 100-120" like the alternatives.
I got the new one on a great deal like 4 months ago through preorder so I could not beat the upgrade price or I would have stuck with my optoma cinemax d2.

I'm holding out for the Hisense PX4-Pro -- curious if you have any thoughts on that one for big-screen gaming? One source said <20ms input delay, another said 1ms...

Havent seen much but a few sneak peeks for it, but from the press release yes it does do 1ms input lag but thats at 1080p at 240hz so identical to the Awol that I purchased. Its weird that Hisense does not have much on it yet on their website, figure they would be splashing it all over the place but they still got the PX3 Pro to sell.
My experience with Hisense if you got one that works you are set, but their after support is meh so it can take awhile to get a issue resolved within warranty. Also their projectors can be a little loud.

How much did you get the AWOL aetherion max for? I see it listed at $4,049 right now 😬
