Seems like Fender shot themselves in the foot with these Vintera III models by marking them up for $1250+ retail. Now it seems every retailer is trying to unload these at cost. Market for guitars isnt great right now and mostly anyone who is buying are going for higher end models at lower price or arent in the market for low end guitars made outside of USA or Japan.
Seen a lot of guitars on Craigslist recently and I picked up a great condition Fender Standard Strat Aged Cherry with a Flame Maple Top for $400 with a gigbag, just to have as a traveling guitar for jams sessions when I dont wanna lug hardshell case of either my LP Standard or Fender Ultra 2 strat. No way im I dropping $800 or even $1.2k for a new guitar that is a subpar build at best.

Tele cutting board! for the guitarist with everything. lol
I have the Tele cutting board, it's a terrific cutting board in it's own right, especially for lefties! The cut-away acts like an artist's palette, making it very easy to straight into a skillet with your veggies.

Yeah I won't buy a fender new unless it's a mind-bogglingly good deal. Got my 2013 American Standard Strat for $899 and my 2015 American Special Tele for $799. Both at guitar center so not exactly difficult to find prices. Much prefer those to made in Mexico models for hundreds more.

Craislist or Facebook is the place to go. I've picked up two Mexico Strats for about $150-175 each. Quick setup and they were good to go. The Mexico always seemed to be the gold standard for guitars under $500. Crazy how much they go for now.
