These SOLPEX solar deck lights are mainly valued as a cheap way to add small accent lighting outdoors, with some installs looking nice for the price and a few reports of strong brightness. The practical upside is long enough service for some setups, including packs that keep going for years with only an occasional dead unit, and replacement batteries can revive similar sets. The main drawbacks are weak output for many, with several comparisons to tea lights or very dim stock photos, and repeated failures after months or about a year from water intrusion or other dead units. A low-cost option if modest light and limited lifespan are acceptable.
The lights can stay functional for about a year before failing, based on reported use timelines.
Some buyers report the lights look pretty nice for the price after installation and spacing.
Some sets reportedly remain working after purchase in 2024 when they were not exposed to rain.
A maintenance approach can help reduce water reaching the internals by coating them with non-conductive water-resistant grease.
The lights may fail within a few months or within a year, including reports of most units becoming dead.
The lights can be extremely dim, with reported output around a tea-light level or about two lumens.
Water intrusion can cause most lights to die in various ways after roughly a year of deck use.
A reported fire incident involving similar outdoor solar deck lights raises a serious safety concern.

Super Lube Multi-Purpose grease is pretty viscous, but can still be pumped through a filler syringe (the type you'd use to refill a printer cartridge).
It's non-conductive, water resistant, plastic safe, and food safe, so you will likely wish you had bought in bulk if you only get the small tube.
Once the internals are coated, nothing will get to them.
Alternatively, hitting them with a clear coat of outdoor Rust-Oleum (mask of the solar panel) would work.
I'm not saying anything at all. Thank you for noticing.

thanks
That said I've had good luck with larger models. e.g. a four-pack of these costs about the same as the OP and emits a hundred times more light.
