I have both this and the nicer original San Mai VG10 version of the CS outdoorsman. This is a very decent knife for the price, however you will never mistake the difference in build quality from the original. That being said, this cheap version will do everything the much more expensive version will do and has a more useful and actually better sheath. Basically this is the version you will actually use to the fullest because you won't mind losing or destroying it. It's the version that stays with you in the tackle box, or emergency kit, hiking pack, etc. The original is too nice looking in the fancy Japanese sword type way where you feel bad bashing it through wood and stuff when you can do the exact same with this cheap model without financial guilt.
