i'll join in on the commentary here and say just buy an auger bit. the only thing I'll say is that this does have a pin to lock in the auger bit. but still, having a separate tool for this seems completely unnecessary

As others have stated I don't see this as a practical tool. It may work fine but how many times a year would you use this? An auger bit can be purchased for drills and many times come in a small and larger auger bit combo pack. (I have one) It really surprises me Craftsman would put the time and effort into such a limited tool used maybe 1-2x yearly.

The auger bit is like 14$ and worth every penny for planting. It works with any normal drill so this is just a way to sell drills.
