I'm pretty sure I paid $229 or less for a Samsung 2 TB SSD a couple years ago. Just looked at it now and it's $360.

Good thing I hoarded storages whenever deals came up. I'm good until 2033 when all the new fab starts to churn out memories and AI companies run out of money to build anymore data centers. Waiting for 8TB deal at $100.

Same, during the tariff scare I panic hoarded a bunch of storage. I have like 88TB of storage across 4 computers. Half of it is SSDs the rest HDDs, plus about 14TB worth of SD and micro SD cards and 192GB worth of DDR5 that I have yet to install / upgrade my systems with.

I'm good until this shit blows over.

Yeah, the internet is never going to be finished being built out… but the incessant need for more materials to build it's infrastructure sure has leveled off.

There are 3000 new Data Centers under construction right now.

Each data center requires from 500,000 to 1M hard drives and 20 to 100 petrabytes of ram

Thoughtful design but does carrying this by the usb cable seem like a small issue?
Feels like you will either lose the drive or the cable, damage the cable, or it starts pulling out of its key ring socket and won't stay seated...?

While on the topic of AI, did AI design this...? ;-)
