I know people are joking about this but looking at the reviews people with disabilities and pain in their arms seem to find this kind of thing very helpful. So it does seem to serve a purpose.

More adding features back thanks to enshitification.

Kindles used to have buttons on the edges so you didn't need to tap the screen to turn the page, you know, where your fingers already were to hold the device. If you're reading with one hand with the kindle above your face there's a non zero chance you'll drop it on your face when you need to turn the page thanks to removing those buttons.

I brought one when I seen the last deal.

Works great on galaxy S25 plus. I will phone read, hours and hours, laying or sitting in awkward positions. I just never cared for tablets because of the weight and how long my reading sessions end up. Also sometimes mirror it to monitor or tv and find myself using this device a lot more in those instances.

Had it a week or two now, I forget, and haven't charged it since I got it, so battery life is very good. Probably already read 30-40 hours with the device.

This is the 1800s equivalent of a servant holding, and turning the pages of a book for you.

I am pretty sure the problem is a lack of imagination. Now imagine wanting to read while trting to fall asleep. You prop your reader up near your pillow and read without having to hold the reader or lift your arm just to turn the page. If you don't read in bed or find it uncomfortable to hold a reader laying down. Then just start searching for your next dopamine hit elsewhere!

Is this the opposite of inflation? I am very confused about what is happening to my money!

At least losing the keyboard was a net positive.

True. As annoying as page button removal is, most changes to Kindles have been positive. Paperwhite backlight with backlight temp are great improvement over the first few gens. Just wish they would make a new Oasis with usb c that doesn't have garbage battery life with bad standby drain.

I have an over the bed tablet holder for my kindle paperwhite. It's nice not having to raise my arm to turn the pages while reading in bed. I just wish they had a Bluetooth option so it didn't have to cover part of the page.

Might be hard to believe, but not everything was created to solve problems you have, friend.

I bought one of these a couple of months ago and am loving it.
One of the best $5 I've ever spent!
