This magnetic door stopper and catch is a simple way to hold doors open and keep them from swinging shut, especially for bathrooms, barn doors, and airflow control. The receiver has a built in spring that cushions hard opens and helps release the door cleanly, and the silver 2 pack price drew interest. Installation can be done with screws, and a similar listing offers 3M tape instead. The main concern is strength and noise, since an older door closer may overpower it and the clank can be loud without damping. A practical pick for light door holding needs.
Common Questions (5)
It works well for keeping doors open in normal household use, including bathrooms, master baths after showers, and barn doors that tend to slide shut. The receiver has a built-in spring that cushions hard opens and helps release the door when you want to close it.
Yes, mounting tape can be used if the door does not have an automatic closer, and 3M VHB is the recommended tape for a better hold. Surface prep matters, and the listing also has an alternative version that includes tape while still shipping screws.
It may not overcome a strong or aging closer on its own. One setup with an interior garage access door closer that had not been replaced in 20 years was still too weak for the magnet, so a closer like that can prevent the door from staying open.
It can clang loudly when the door hits the catch, but adding a small dollop of hot glue on the contact point can mute the noise considerably. That makes it more suitable for bedrooms or bathrooms where a loud snap would be disruptive.
Yes, the promo code worked on the silver 2-pack. The same code did not work on the black 2-pack, so the discount appears to be color-specific.

I have a closer that probably hasn't been replaced in 20 years and the magnet on the stopper is still too weak.
3M VHB tape would be my recommendation (Scotch Heavy Duty and Gorilla Tape Max Strength aren't strong enough at 2"x2"), but you'll have to prep both surfaces for it to stand a chance.
Other than that, maybe construction adhesive?

edit:
B&M only though, they ship only boxes of 24

It has the option for using 3m tape rather than screws but screw still come with it as an alternative.
