This magnetic door stopper and catch is a simple way to hold doors open and keep them from swinging shut, especially for bathrooms, barn doors, and airflow control. The receiver has a built in spring that cushions hard opens and helps release the door cleanly, and the silver 2 pack price drew interest. Installation can be done with screws, and a similar listing offers 3M tape instead. The main concern is strength and noise, since an older door closer may overpower it and the clank can be loud without damping. A practical pick for light door holding needs.
The magnetic stopper can lock a door open to help balance AC airflow in homes with one thermostat.
The receiver side includes a built-in spring that cushions hard opens and helps release the door.
The stopper can keep a bathroom door open after showers to help manage humidity.
The stopper can work well for long-term bathroom use without needing replacement.
The magnets may be too weak to overcome an older interior garage door hinge closer.
The door can slide closed on its own when mounting on a barn door with a wall that is not perfectly plumb.
The stopper can be very loud when it clanges, and it may require hot glue to mute the noise.
A promo code may work on the silver 2-pack but fail on the black 2-pack.
