I got a Midea cube (certified) and it had a stuck humidity reading at 30% right out of the box (a very common problem) that they obviously ignored and just shipped it back out.
This is the same one that Costco sells for $170-ish after coupon. This is the third summer that I am using it. It is loud given its capability, and it isnt that accurate at hitting exact humidity (maybe off by 5%), but its consistent. The pump works without any drama. A good price all in all, but given the propensity for dehumidifiers to not work indefinitely, Id recommend spending the extra $ from costco website.

This product is just crap, my first one didn't last even 3 weeks, it stopped collecting water all of a sudden, got a second one as replacement from Costco, this one is just stuck at 30% humidity out of the box, they should just discontinue selling it instead of ruining their brand reputation if there is any
I bought it from Costco last year. Used it for a few weeks and stored it away. When I tried to use it the other day, the pump didn't start. Going to return if Costco lets me.
have had one for a few years managing our basement that is roughly 1/3rd this size. I don't know if i'd trust it to do 4,500 sq ft in a humid basement, but for us it has been rock solid. A little louder than others when its running full titl, but have had 0 problems with it.
For comparison, i was happy if i got 2 years out of every previous one we had. Picking one up as a spare and to use for projects where i want a dehumidifier on hand at this price. Its hard to beat if you want a pump and a good sized capacity.
As others have said, the humidity meter on it isn't what i would consider accurate, but also if you are trying to dehumidify 4500 sq feet with it, you are going to have wildly different readings around the space and are effectively telling the thing to just run anyway.

It is better than many in $200-400 range, works for about a year without problem in the basement, after two others got broken in weeks. Now I trust Midea more, they are oem for many labels. But not restored.

Same thing happened to me. I bought it in 23. Used it for a few seasons. Plugged it in this week after about a year and the pump was dead. Returned it to Costco today without issue. Costco was selling it new for $200. Took a chance and got this refurb.
