I highly recommend NOT getting off-brand Ethernet cables. Their quality often does not meet the standard, and the last thing you want to do is diagnose network issues with flaky network cables.

This is especially true for flat cat 8 cables because the cat 8 standard requires specific shielding that makes it (practically) impossible to be flat AND meet the shielding standards (cat 8 is meant for data centers and they are thick boys.) Of course you're also extremely unlikely to need cat 8 in a home environment so you won't notice that it's a crap cable for quite awhile if ever as long as latency isn't too bad, but considering they're lying about it meeting standards it seems conceivable that there are other flaws and one REALLY shouldn't support this sort of snake oil🤷

Are these solid copper core? Seems like a crazy deal if they are. I'm curious if these are adequately priced junk or if they're quality but trying to make a name for themselves lol. I just got a 50ft Monoprice cable for $12 so this would be a crazy deal if they can offer quality while undercutting such a reputable brand.

Um, no. There very much ARE CAT8 cables, it's been an industry standard since 2016 (ANSI/TIA-568-C.2-1) see among places https://standards.tiaonline.org/t...addendum-1 for details.

These just aren't and 99.9% of SDers don't need Cat8 cables.

There are many reasons not to buy these, but cat8 isn't real isn't one of them (also, birds are real.)
