Just my 2 cents, if you choose the one with purple scales for $33.14, the blade is Nitro V steel instead of D2. I feel it is a steel upgrade for only $5 more. D2 is a semi stainless tool steel which is very hard and tough. It's good for a working knife because it holds an edge a long time but also more difficult to sharpen and having a lower chromium content can be prone to rust. The Nitro V was designed specifically for knife blades. It is easier to sharpen to a finer edge and more rust resistant than D2. Having said all that, though, the D2 is still a good steel to hold up to rougher day in, day out use. For me, I prefer the Nitro V for better corrosion resistance here in swampy, humid Florida and the ease of sharpening to a finer edge.

Edit: Just received the one with Nitro V and purple scales. Very impressed with the knife. The blade is dead center between the scales and the edge is very even on each side of the blade. The body/scales measure 3 3/4" in length and just long enough for my sized XL hands to grip. Any shorter would be too short. It was packaged very nicely, almost classy. Very sharp out of the box. It shaved hair off my arm easily. Mmmmmm…. it's the Slick Deal effect…. I think I'm in for one more :-O

Amazon won't ship pocket knives to certain states and jurisdictions. NY is one of them. All pocket knives come up as unavailable for me.

I've never had a D2 blade rust on my watch, even in SE TX humidity. The chromium difference is insignificant between D2 and Nitro V. The edge retention is just WAYYYYY better than the nitro V.

I would probably agree with you Nitro V is an upgrade for a lot of people. Just wish it was a satin blade instead since black shows wear so much easier.

I'd recommend this BPSKNIVES Colibri 14C28N knife at $30. Superior to Nitro V in toughness and corrosion resistance with similar or better edge retention.
